★★★★★
Returning for their sixth year at the Fringe, UK ICCA finalists The Songsmiths from the University of Leeds are performing Seasons of Love, filled with original arrangements of music by Aretha Franklin, Ariana Grande, The Beatles and more this a cappella show focuses on all things love.
The Songsmiths are an a cappella group that doesn’t hold back. There is no script or shoe horned in jokes. Instead they focus solely on their incredible vocals. In this mixture of romantic songs each member gets their chance to shine and each voice is valued. The vocals are strong and rich. It is clear that they enjoy singing together and listen to each other as everyone sings with confidence and passion. The harmonies and arrangements are soulful and full of heart. Superb timing and great dynamics allow for shifts in tempo and emotion which helps to further impress the audience.

There is a great range of songs included in this set with many well known hits having been re arranged to suit the individuals voices. The Songsmiths also announced that they have recorded their latest song which will be available for streaming soon which is great news for avid fans.
The choreography is planned to move with the dynamics and is performed well but also allows for still moments when the audience is given a chance to focus on the beautiful harmonies.

The Songsmiths are definitely getting better each year and deserve a larger stage and audience so do make sure to catch this incredible showcase of a cappella brilliance.
