Following sell-out runs at Edinburgh Fringe in 2017-2019 and 2021, The Dolly Parton Show invites audiences to embark on a nostalgic journey from Dolly’s humble beginnings to becoming Queen of Country.

This is not just a tribute show to Dolly Parton but a biographical story of her life. Hannah Richards and Alex Beharrell lead the audience from Dolly’s childhood right through to her most recent hits. Full of information and coupled with projected photographs of Dolly Parton, this show is as much educational as it is enjoyable. Hannah Richards has a beautiful voice which is pure and powerful. Her country style lending itself perfectly to Dolly Parton’s hits, she is able to captivate the audience and really bring the songs to life. Her vocals during ‘I Will Always Love You’ are particularly special.

Alex Beharrell is an excellent guitarist. He adds the comedy element to the show and is a talented singer in the many songs duetting with Hannah with ‘Blue Smoke’ being a real highlight of the show. He manages to put the audience at ease instantly and the show has an easy, laid back approach where singing along is also encouraged. This is a show for fans of Dolly Parton and newcomers alike.

The show is a fantastic mix of well-known hits such as ‘Jolene’, ‘9 to 5’ and ‘Islands in the Stream’ but also some of the more unknown songs in her huge back catalogue of over 3,000 songs. The Dolly Parton Story comes from the award-winning Night Owl Shows who are performing 10 different shows a day including Tina Turner, Voices of Bond and Carole King so do be sure to check them out.
